Len Damouth of Pit Bull Powersports is the new guy in town, but he is coming in strong with a few hundred of his friends. Pit Bull Powersports held its Grand Opening on March 1-2, 2013 at 1332 North Glenstone in Springfield, but Damouth already has a big event planned for the Springfield/Ozark area from April 24-28. Spyderfest U.S. began as a grassroots effort in 2010 with about 100 riders.  For Spyderfest U.S. 2013, known as The New Adventure, 1200 riders are expected.  For those who don’t know, a Spyder is a 3-wheel vehicle (two wheels in the front), which was introduced to the U.S. in 2008.

Spyderfest U.S. began in 2010 in Cuba, Missouri when Len was working at his parents’ recreational products business. The group had a blast riding the Ozark twisties on their colorful 3-wheeled Can-Am Spyders and word got out about the fun. Spyderfest U.S. 2012 grew to about 1000.  In addition to the good times, the group also raised money for local kids charities.

Spyders are gaining in popularity due to their stability on the road, innovative features, and their fun factor. The attention-grabbing motorcycle roadsters are popular with men, women, and people of all ages. Damouth is one of the premier Spyder Sales, Service, & Parts providers in the nation, and those of who have been interested in this new product can rest assured that they will be in good hands with this Can-Am product, which is part of the Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) line.

Damouth, owner and sales manager, and his lead technician Jim Bell, his technician Sean Stroup, and his parts manager Erik Stauffer, have over 35 years of combined experience in the powersports industry. Damouth calls his staff the Pit Crew and says, “We work hard so that you can play hard.”
Besides the innovative Spyder Roadsters, Pit Bull Powersports will carry a full line of recreational products including Sea-Doo watercraft, Can-Am All-Terrain vehicles, and Can-Am Side-by-Side Vehicles. If it has to do with fun and utility, Pit Bull Powerports is on board. Pit Bull is also a vendor for Fulmer helmets, Elka shocks, Can-Am riding clothing, ProArmor Gear, as well as other recreational product accessories.

Damouth came to the Springfield area because he felt that the market was underserved. With its agricultural interests, easy access to Table Rock and Bull Shoals Lakes, and the many ATV parks, the Springfield area seems a natural fit with Damouth’s products, skills, and services. Because of Damouth's and his technicians’ experience with the Can-Am line of products, he felt that they could be an asset to the area.

Damouth and his wife Vanessa also like the small town values of the area and think that it will be a good place to raise their young son and daughter. Vanessa attended Evangel College and has relatives in the area, so the Damouths were familiar with what a great place that the Springfield area is.

The Damouths are ready to plant roots in the area. They welcome everyone as a friend, whether you are a customer or not. They want to provide world-class customer service. Damouth says, “We know and use our products. Our depth of knowledge about our product will help you get the most possible enjoyment out of your machine.”

As part of their outreach to the recreational products community, they plan monthly Spyder rides and monthly ATV/UTV rides to different riding parks each month. All brands of bikes and rides are welcome to these events. “Ride what you brought,” states Damouth. “Don’t worry about if you bought it from me.”

Damouth does feel that when you buy from Pit Bull Powersports that you become part of their family. This was evident at the recent Grand Opening. Two-thirds of the attendees were past customers/friends of the Damouths from the 4-state area who traveled many miles to lend support and help at the event. They greeted people who came in the door and talked about their own spyders and ATVs as they waited for Damouth to be able to greet the customer as he talked to riding magazines and other Grand Opening attendees. Old friends reminisced, and new friends were made.

That’s the way it’s going to roll at Pit Bull Powersports
